Harness Leash
If you use the child harness/leash, what’s your #1 motivation for that?

I don’t hate them either. I have seen people mention safety, which of course makes sense, but I’ve been surprised how many times on here I’ve seen people mention their child being “snatched” versus safety from cars or being lost.

I don’t have one for my 2 1/2 year old daughter, but I haven’t entirely ruled out going that route once I am juggling newborn twins in addition to her.

I give her quite a bit of freedom when we are out, and she generally stays within my sight and behaves well. If she does start to run amok, I have her sit in the cart (which she hates), but I am always willing to give her another chance to use her freedom wisely. I think this tactic may still work well enough when the twins are here, too. Usually we are out shopping etc. mid-morning when things are not busy/crowded anyway.

If she ever becomes prone to running away, I may consider ‘reining her in’ rather than running after her laden with twins. Even so, now you’ve got me thinking…. If she became a ‘runner,’ there would be a *reason* for that, which could be addressed/resolved.
