Harness Blue

Insalling a Pioneer HU and have a Blue wire and Blue/White wire extra.?

Installing a Pioneer HU. Blue wire and Blue/white wire from the harness are not connected to anything. However I have read on some Nissan forums that the Blue wire needs to be connected even though I do not have power antenna. Is this true and what is it connected to? My AM/FM reception was fine with the factory set-up. It is now very spotty and goes from good to bad erratically. During the install I just connected the antenna from the car directly into the antenna jack on the HU. Thanks

Connect the blue wire in your adapter harness to the blue/white wire in the Pioneer plug. Your vehicle has an in-glass antenna, and it uses an antenna amplifier to improve reception. The blue wire in your adapter harness is the activation wire for the antenna amplifier.

Since your Pioneer deck probably does not have a blue (power antenna) wire, you need to use the blue/white amp turn-on wire to activate the Nissan antenna amplifier.
