How do I get two pet rats to stop chewing up cage accessories?

I bought a hammock to put in my rat cage for my two rats. Not even a day later, the hammock was completely chewed up and… well, it wasn’t a hammock anymore. My question is, is there a spray with a safe but bittering agent to stop them from chewing on a future hammock?

they are supposed to chew things. they may stay away from some sprays (go to the pet store, some are bitter etc to keep pets away from objects) but mostly those are for cats i think

make sure they have plenty of other things to chew up. they need to chew because it keeps their teeth short.
