Guide Behavior Control

My son is starting to be behave out of control, help ………..?

My son is 13 yrs old and his behaviour is getting out of control. He goes out with his mates most of the day and is reluctant to give me details of what he gets up to, just says he is at the park etc., His attitude is getting bad he swears and says this is acceptable because I have sworn in anger before, even though I tell him this is unacceptable. He says we don’t influence him but when we try to guide him and tell him he is wrong or just give him advice, he gets angry and storms off. Please help. Only sensible answers will be viewed as this is quite a difficult time for us.
Hitting a child is child abuse to those he said he physically punish my child as they are idiots.

Try not telling him he is wrong. That really bothers me when my parents do it. Don’t act like you know better than he does. It’ll just make him mad. Try to let him be what he wants for a little. I knew I fell on my face, then I was much more open to what my parents had to say.

Oh and don’t have double standards. If you curse when you’re mad, he will when he is. The only way to get him to stop is by stopping yourself

Trichotillomania: An ACT-Enhanced Behavior Therapy Approach Therapist Guide

Trichotillomania: An ACT-Enhanced Behavior Therapy Approach Therapist Guide

$35.82

Trichotillomania (TTM) is a complex disorder that is difficult to treat as few effective therapeutic options exist. Behavior therapy has the greatest empirical support, but the number of mental health providers familiar with TTM and its treatment is quite small. This manual was written as a tool for therapists to become familiar with an effective treatment for TTM. The treatment approach described in this guide blends traditional behavior therapy elements of habit reversal training and stimulus control techniques with the more contemporary behavioral elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Unlike traditional interventions that aim to change type or frequency of pulling-related cognitions in the hopes of reducing urges to pull hair, this innovative program uses strategies to change the function of these cognitions. Clients are taught to see urges for what they really are and to accept their pulling-related thoughts, feelings, and urges without fighting against them. This is accomplished through discussions about the function of language and defusion exercises that show the client how to respond to thoughts about pulling less literally. Over the course of 10 weeks, clients learn to be aware of their pulling and warning signals, use self-management strategies for stopping and preventing pulling, stop fighting against their pulling-related urges and thoughts, and work toward increasing their quality of life. Self-monitoring and homework assignments keep clients motivated and engaged throughout. Designed to be used with older adolescents and adults, this innovative intervention has proven efficacy and is sure to be a powerful tool for the clinician who treats TTM. TreatmentsThatWorkTM represents the gold standard of behavioral healthcare interventions All programs have been rigorously tested in clinical trials and are backed by years of research A prestigious scientific advisory board, led by series Editor-In-Chief David H. Barlow, reviews and evaluates each intervention to ensure that it meets the highest standard of evidence so you can be confident that you are using the most effective treatment available to date Our books are reliable and effective and make it easy for you to provide your clients with the best care available Our corresponding workbooks contain psychoeducational information, forms and worksheets, and homework assignments to keep clients engaged and motivated A companion website (www.oup.com/us/ttw) offers downloadable clinical tools and helpful resources Continuing Education (CE) Credits are now available on select titles in collaboration with PsychoEducational Resources, Inc. Help for Adolescent Males with Sexual Behavior Problems: A Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment Program: Therapist Guide

Help for Adolescent Males with Sexual Behavior Problems: A Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment Program: Therapist Guide

$51.34

Up until the turn of the century, adolescent males with sexual behavior problems were treated using an adult criminological model. Recently however, it has been proven that juvenile offenders benefit most from a holistic program designed specifically for this younger age group. Male juvenile sex offenders are a unique population in need of specialized treatment. Work with adolescent sexual offenders is complex and should address not only the criminal behavior, but developmental and behavioral issues as well. This therapist guide describes a three-phase treatment for use in residential settings with young men who have perpetrated sexual crimes. Based on the principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy, the developed program is designed to address social and cultural influences on the youth’s behavior, family dynamics, and peer influences. Phase I of treatment focuses on social skill development and impulse control. The aim of Phase II is to help participating youth develop a healthy understanding of sexuality and sexual relationships. Youth are also taught anger management skills. In the final phase of treatment, the goal is to foster in youth cognitive and emotional understanding of the negative physical, emotional and social consequences of sexually abusive behavior. Phase III presents relapse prevention strategies as well. The concept of healthy masculinity is introduced at the start of the program and carried throughout. According to scientific research, the majority of juvenile sex offenders who have undergone the treatment in this guide do not go on to sexually reoffend or become adult sex offenders. Complete with step-by-step instructions for facilitating treatment, as well as sample dialogues, case studies, and homework assignments, this guide is an essential resource for everyone working with this unique group of clients.

Behavior and Its Neural Control in Gastropod Molluscs

$335.39

During the past quarter century, there has been a tremendous expansion in our knowledge about gastropods, their behavior and their neurobiology. We can understand a great deal about mammalian nervous systems by studying the relatively larger and simpler structure of the gastropod nervous system. Behavior and Its Neural Control in Gastropod Molluscs first reviews the broader aspects of molluscan biology and draws attention to the special features of the gastropod nervous system. The book then examines different types of behavior, reviewing progress in understanding the mechanisms of neural control, and emphasizing cases in which control can be attributed to identified neurons and identified neural circuits. Behavior analytic research on rule-governed behavior was first gathered in this book in 1989. Recently, however, there has been a notable pick up in interest in the topic. This previously out-of-print volume has been reprinted by Context Press in order to provide a readily accessible resource to behavioral psychologists as they move ahead in their research and practical work.
