Grooming Tools for Medium Haired Dogs?

I am buying an Aussie Shepherd tomorrow and I was wondering what grooming tools I should buy that won’t break the hair and aren’t like clippers just brushes. Please tell me about how much it should cost around.

I use the furminator on my long haired GSD, but a friend uses it on their medium haired lab. I got a medium size brush and it was around $35 at petco (they were out of the Large Size, but it works just as good). It was a little more than I could afford as a graduate student, but it has been well worth it. I bought 3 other brushes before this one trying to cut cost, but when he started to lose his winter coat I broke down and spent the money.

It’s been a great tool and has cut my grooming time in half! It does not damage the hair and is not painful (my dog thinks it’s a treat to get groomed).
