Is there a trimmer that thins the hairs like razored hair-cuts. Just not leaving the hairs end flat / blunt?

For more all around male grooming. I don’t wanna shave but I don’t like how normal trimming leaves the entire hair shaft thick (unlike the softer natural way hair thins out). I’m asking about trimmers because there’s just too much surface to cover with hand held shears. If not whats the best option. Thanx
