Grooming Scissors

How are grooming shears/scissors measured?

I have just purchased new shears and am confused over their length. They are apparently 7.5 inches but when compared to my 6.5 inch thinners there is almost no difference. The thinners are 6.5 inches WITHOUT the finger rest.. and the straights are ALMOST 7.5 inches WITH the rest. Why?
They are the same brand. Dubl Duck Ultra Gold line.

Are they different brands? If so they may just have different standards or different ways to measure them out. Who knows. Take them back though if they weren’t what you wanted.
