Good Dog….?

What kind of dog is smart, a fast learner, small and can be an indoor pet? I am dog shopping and want a good companion. I don’t want a dog that is hard to train or too large. I want a Small Dog that I can snuggle with. Any suggestions?
Of course I am going to let my dog outside. lol! Wow.
I have owned a poodle mix, shih-tsu, jack russel terrier, pomeranian, collie mix and lab. I have some dog experience. I just want to know if I should go with something else or if I should go with what I have already had. (I may have slaughtered some of those names, can’t spell them)

Toy Poodle hands down. They are the smartest dogs and are just the right size! I had one and he was awesome! Super smart, cuddler and was my Best Friend. I would go with a Toy Poodle. Don’t go with the Terrier group…they are crazy!
