how long does it take for a new refrigerator/freezer to get cold enough for food storage?

I am replacing my old refrigerator/freezer. When the new one is delivered, do I need to place my refrigerator/freezer contents in some sort of transition cold storage (eg. a neighbor’s freezer) while waiting for the new appliance to reach the right temperature?

You should leave it for at least 24hrs to make sure its ok and it to settle. Just put a ice tray in wen you think it might be ready when the ice freezes you know its ready simple.
