Does is matter if you give your dog a bath before applying flea treatment?

My son just put peanut butter in my dogs fur, and now she needs a bath. But I need to give her her frontline. Is it bad to bathe your dog right before applying treatment, because of the oils in the fur and skin being washed away?

I am not sure about bathing before applying but if you do it right after applying, the frontline could be washed off. They say it is water repellant but I have heard alot of people say its washed off if you don’t wait for 24 hours.
