Five Star Grooming

Any body has a maltese and can answer some of these questions I’m going to ask????

Well I just found out about maltese but I never got to know about how they react to things… If you take care of a maltese, do they like getting their teeth brushed and do they like getting groomed??? Also, how many meals do maltese dogs have a day and what foods do they like??? For a bonus, how do you keep their white coat clean??? Answer all of my questions and I’ll put a five star for best answer….. Thank you and no bad comments please!!!

First of all, YES Maltese need to be groomed regularly. Their hair is very thick and can be matted and tangled easily. If your Maltese is a puppy, I would recommend brushing him daily so he can accept that this will be a necessary part of his life. If he is used to it early, grooming sessions can be much easier.
Teeth brushing should be done at least twice a week to prevent cavities and tartar build-up. They make doggie dental treats that can help with this.
As for food for the Maltese I recommend foods containing salt water fish, poultry, and lamb blended with brown rice, avocado, and wheat. You should avoid feeding a Maltese any sulfate minerals; as well as soy, horse meat, beef, or beet pulp. This is due to their unique eating habits.
Its best to feed twice a day in the morning and night.
Their coat can stay white by buying a specialty shampoo for white haired dogs. I personally prefer a brand call “Blue Mountain Shampoo for White Coated Dogs”. It is inexpensive and can be found at Wal-mart or even Target.
