How do I train my dog to fetch and bring the toy back to me?

She runs after toys I throw for her, and she loves doing it. But she leaves the toy where it landed and runs back. How do I get her to bring the toy back with her.

Put her on a leash, throw the toy and walk with her when you get there, put it in your mouth and say “good girl!” and reward with petting or a treat.

Or you could coat the toy with something yummy (get a kong and stuff it with kong stuffers, let her sniff it, or rub a ball in chicken stock or egg, be sure to wash it off, immediately after using it.)
Then once she gets the hang of picking up the toy, put her on a long Training Leash and throw the toy. When she picks it up, if she doesn’t come back, pull the line gently and say “fetch”, when she brings it back to you say”good fetch! good fetch!” and praise and pet her with love! =)
