Dog won’t stop barking at night!!?

In need of some help please….

Dogs are very social and to isolate them will do nothing but cause problems. All of my dogs are crate trained. It gives them a safe place to go to get away from it all and I know they can’t get into any trouble.

Like you said if you keep going to him he learns that is how to get you to come to him. Talk to your neighbors and tell them that he is going to be crying until he figures out that his barking will not get what he wants. This way the neighbors will know that you are actually working on it and won’t be upset with you. Bring them cookies !

I do not suggest bark collars for any dog.

I would make sure that he is getting enough exercise during the day and also that long walk in the late evening before putting him in his crate.

I strongly suggest that you put him into training classes. You have a very active dog, and to expect a dog to lay around is unrealistic. I am not just saying this to you, but for alot of people out there. You have a youngster here and that needs alot of activities. The more people realize that, the less problems they will have with their dogs.

The garage might be too warm for him in the hot weather. You could leave on a radio on low for him. All of my dogs are in the house. My rottie has a bedroom of his own and he sleeps in the crate. Its what he has always known. Even when I just put up a babygate for him, so that he could just be in the room, he wants to be in his crate. My Shih Tzu sleeps in our room.
