Dogs Illnesses Symptoms

what are the symptoms of heart worms in dogs and is there effective treatment even after a positive diagnosis?
my 6 year old dog has been clearing her throat lately and sometimes coughing. I was unable to do any thing about it for the first few weeks due to my own illness. it seems to be getting worse. Today i noticed a rash like occurrence on her torso. Tomorrow its off to the Vet we go! But i guess I am trying to prepare myself as much as possible.
A cough can be anything, including heart trouble, heartworm, or as simple as kennel cough.
As for your question on heartworm, look up the “slow kill method” of treating heartworm on the net. Basically, it involves giving a heartworm pill twice a month for 6 months.
The pill can be given to heartworm postitive dogs. Read Dr. Malernee’s articles. http://www.ebvet.com Click on articles and scroll down to the ones on heartworm. Dr. Malernee, a licensed regular vet in Florida, links you into the government’s website to prove is points.
I’ve also heard good things about Ambertech’s Worm Free, which is a natural heartworm treatment. http://www.ambertech.com
