Is the awful smell coming from my doggie’s bum area a puppy fart!?!?!?
Every few days or so, there’ll be this REALLY REALLY bad smell coming from my 11 week old puppy, around his bum area. If I’ve been carrying him, it stays on my clothes and everything! WHAT THE HECK IS IT? Is it a fart?!??! It doesn’t smell anything like human or even his own doggie poo, it just smells like something died!
He eats Advance puppy dry food mixed with Science Diet puppy can food (we’re weaning him off the canned food) and his only snacks consist of liver treats and puppy paste for his Kong. Any ideas?!?!?!
Probably anal glands need emptying. Does it smell fishy? You need to get him to your Vet (unless you know how to do this yourself).
Vet’s favourite job!!!
PS Even at this age, puppies can have this problem – it’s perhaps unusual, but it definitely happens – been there!!!
