I’m not sure how you’re thinking of using vitamin E for your dog? Is this to ingest or to use directly on skin?

You can absolutely use the gel from a vitamin E capsule on your dog’s skin. I’ve done this once or twice – one of our dogs had a dry patch on her belly over the winter and we used vitamin E a couple times and it vanished.

I looked at a couple of resources about proper dosage of vitamin E and I found this on PetEducation.com — “There are no known Vitamin E toxicities in the dog and cat. Fed even at huge levels, no interruption of bodily functions has been demonstrated. Recommendations on the daily dose are highly variable depending on the source. Further research is necessary to discover other possible functions of Vitamin E.”
