Dog Sofa Bed
Smelly Dog Bed?
My dogs bed really smells. Its a fabric thing so I can wash it. Only problem with that is it takes ages to dry and leaves loads of dog hair in our washing machine (even after a rinse). Also any tips on getting dog smell out of sofa (we use to let him on it but now we dont as its more hassle than its worth).
We have use febreze on some things but doesnt last that long

(the lady who asked how to keep the dog off the sofa) Well I watched its me or the dog allot and got her book its very good. Every single time our dog tries to get on the sofa we tell him to get down in an angry voice. Another thing to do is get off the sofa yourself as he sometimes only wants to go on it cause we are there. good luck with the dog.
I’d start with a professional cleaning for the couch.
Or, if the areas that touched the dog were cushions with zippered fabric that can be removed and taken to the dry cleaner. The cushions themselves may need to be replaced. Your nose will tell you.
I always have two blankets on the couch extending from the back, over the top and down the front and then covered with a flannel sheet. OK, not pretty, but easily whipped off for company and the triple layer keeps dog stink from the couch.
As for the dog bed, you could take it to a laundromat and leave the dog hair for someone else…..hmmmm. I wash mine at home and run the next load with “dog towels and rags” so I’m not concerned too much about dog hair. Maybe because my 5 dogs are long haired, but I find the dryer removes the hairs quite nicely so there’s very little re-hair on future clothes. I understand short hair is harder…….
