Why does my dog like my socks so much?

I’m doing laundry, and every time I walk out of the room, my dog grabs a pair of socks. He doesn’t seem to want to rip them apart, he’s just slobbering all over them and unrolling them. What’s the deal? And how can I get him to knock it off? (I ended up putting him in his crate after the third time.)

Thye have your scent on them and he smells that. years ago when my hubby went into the service our german shepard would not move without a pair of his socks, she carried them everywhere until his return! when he came home the socks were left in the corner when he was gone they were back in her mouth! about the only time she would put them down was when she ate! but other wise when she was playing out side or we ‘d go for a walk the pair of socks were right there! of course when he returned for good the socks were discarded! and she was OK with that!
My sugestions is to give him a pair of socks that are his, and his alone! this may sound yucky but maybe a dirty pair might fit his liking! try it!
