Ultrasound DOG REPELLER?

Are these gadgets effective? Do they work iIf the dog is behind the door?

I bought 2 of them. They are not effective. Do not buy. They have to be used from a distance of 5-6 feet. The dog can hear that sound but it did not run, niether was it uncomfortable. It kept seeing around to the source of the sound. I wasted nearly 25$ on it. Do not buy ! And at 5-6 feet it can bite you too. Useless!!!
