Can you train a dog not to piddle?

If so how, thanks
*piddle means when a dog pees a little or a lot because of excitement.

I also have a dog that piddles. It’s a VERY hard habit to break, but you can do it with patience.
Is the dog crated? Or running loose in the house. The key is to NOT acknowledge the dog at all when you get home. Ignore them completely. When they are calm, then you can pet them. You can even try treats but only give them to him when he is calm. NO talking in a high voice, no excitement, just walk in the house like you’re on a mission. Eventually, they will catch on. You may try to use a clicker, to reward with treats when they are calm. They’ll catch on. Good luck.
