Can you trim dog face hair?

This might sound dumb but my friend said you can’t because you will cut off whiskers? I don’t see any though and I’ve never owned a dog before my current one. Hes a mini poodle and just has mangy looking hair i normally use dog clippers and cut it down but want to do face as well?

Yes you can trim face hair, I have seen it done. I don’t like it when I see a dog come from the groomers and they cut their whiskers. I feel bad for them, but it must not bother the dog….
