ok so im going to have a baby, me and my fiance bothe work full time and we have a dog. Cleaning Lady?

should we think about hiring a cleaning lady. we work different sifts and i never seem to have time to get teh house ready for the baby. but we are on a strict budget. we probably wont hire anyone from a business. and probably pay about $8.00/hr does that sound fair?

I recently had a baby and went through the same thing you are going through.

I would however, wait till the baby is born to hire help. As for the cleaning and not much time, I again can relate. What I did is make a list of the top things that need to be done 1 for the baby and 2nd a list of daily/weekly chores. That way, when I have free time I know what needs to me done and also that way my husband knows exactly what I want done (cause when we are pregnant, we get a nasty “nesting stage” of emotions). Then on the weekends and some free time during the week we knocked out the items on the list. I also had my mother come and help me on her free time.

When we finally had our baby, we did hire a nanny. We explained that we were on a tight budget and specified the exact hours/days we would need her. We paid her $25 a day from 6am til 1pm (til my husband came home) for 4 days out of a week. So while I cared for the baby, she would do the chores around the house. And she even willingly helped me with the baby, she was great!
