Dog Cat Brush

Help!! I can’t brush my dog or cat!!?

Every time i try to brush him he ends up running away or nipping at my fingers and the brush. And i try to brush him as gently as possible, but he still runs away. And i usually have someone hold him, but i’m afraid it stresses him out. same goes for my cat, so please help!!
p.s. I take him (pomeranian) to the groomers at least twice a month

Ok, if you try to brush him and let him bite,snap,play and get away from you, you are going to make your groomers job much harder! Make sure the brush you are using is appropriate for his coat. Some brushes may feel prickly on certain coats. Since he is obviously not the type to brush while he his 1/2 alseep in front of the TV try putting him on a table or bench, something that establishes this is grooming time not playtime. Just do a little at 1st and reward him for good behavior. If he is really difficult take him for a walk 1st, tire him out, than upon entering the house take him right to the grooming place you have selected , dont talk sweet talk to him as it might excite him, be calm, quiet and assertive, and again just do a little at a time until he gets used to it. When Im at home, just having a place I do all their grooming changed their behavior as they stopped veiwing it as playtime! Good Luck!
