Why are Dog Biscuits shaped like bones?
..And why do people give dogs bones?
It’s a marketing technique to appeal to us – the human. We are giving a dog a dry, hard, “cookie-like” substance. If we shape it like a bone, we will “think” we are giving the dog a bone.
Dogs love to chew on hard things, bones, stickes etc. Give a dog a bone to chew on and they are in heaven….
Marketing weenies know that. So they shape dog biscuits like bones…. It’s all symbolic. =)
Haven’t you noticed all those other treats that look like mini steaks? They even have mini bones in the middle of them. And the snausages and bacon things. My dogs don’t even TASTE the stuff. The just gulp it down. They don’t care what it looks like – we do.
