Dog Appeasing Pheromone

Has anyone seen “dog appeasing pheromone” diffuser make the dog more anxious?

The Vet suggeste our using this but I suspect that it is maling our 15 year old dog more nervous. Has anyone had this experince?

I bought one of the DAP plug in’s that the vet recommended to help calm my dog, he was diagnosed with separation anxiety and we thought that might help. When I got home from work that day, he had cried so hard he had stys all around his eyes, and had given himself welts from beating himself up against the inside of his crate. So, yes, I do think that it can have the reverse affect. When I went to the vet, they seemed a bit confused and suggested valium for him, which also caused a similar reaction. They said that it was possibly an adverse reaction. They gave me Clomicalm and it helps, but I hate to drug him, so I have worked him off of it. Best of luck and no you are not alone!
