What is the best flea treatment?

I have been using advantage, then bio spot topical and my dog still has fleas. I gave her capstar and then more flea treatment. She has an allergy to the flea bites and is always itching. Her skin is red and irritated by her tail. Now she really smells. The Vet says it is fleas… and just keep treating her. What else can I do.

I found Advantix works the best, and it doesn’t wash off. You can give your dog a bath in Neutrogena’s Oatmeal bath powder to ease the skin condition. Remember you have to treat the dog every 30 days with the Advantix until flea season is over. You might also have to treat your yard either with insecticide or naturally by applying nematodes to the ground. Make sure you wash your dog’s bedding frequently (or yours if he sleeps with you), keep your rugs vacuumed, and treat any cracks and crevices in your flooring with insecticide. You may have to have an exterminator treat your home if the dog keeps getting re-infested.
