Can a dog have pnuemonia?
He has had the shakes and tender to touch.
Appetite declined.
We did kill a copperhead in the yard this week ( we live in the country)..

I don’t know what country you are living in, but if my dog were bitten by a snake I would be having him off to the Vet quick smart. Copperheads as with tiger snakes and many other snakes are injectors and depend on being able to envenomate by injection so mostly curious puppies who get scratched on the nose get away with a little sickness and that’s all. Not so lucky bigger dogs who go in boots and all and cop the lot !. if your dog has other problems yes they can get pneumonia and such just as people can and why would you let your mate suffer any longer if he is ill. He needs a doctor, just like you would. Sounds like snake bite to me

At the end of each chapter are example case studies giving in summary both the view of a pharmacist and medical doctor for each condition. My only criticism is that there are no illustrations or diagrams which I feel would have been helpful when describing clinical features of some conditions. Nonetheless there are clear descriptions of each ailment, highlighting symptoms, possible causes and most appropriate treatments. Importantly it gives clear guidelines on when to refer presenting ailments to a doctor. It is comparable in style to the title Minor Illness or Major Disease, however this title is illustrated with photographs of illness to aid recognition. A useful guide for all student pharmacists, preregistration pharmacists and possibly newly qualified pharmacists.
