how do i get the hdd to display its list on my wharfdale24hdf dvd rec,its a HDD/DVD button on the remote.?

Its also conected to a lcd tv of the same brand,Ps has anyone else had trouble with Argos & their so called helpline.Also it turns out on my recipt it says 30 day warranty cancelled.Is this leagal,just beware of Argos i suppose.
