Stop Dog Nipping Immediately

When you want to train a puppy it is recommended that you start the moment you bring them home. Whenever you see action that needs correcting, start at that point. It is easier to instill values and obedience at a young age while the puppy is still developing and learning.

Step two is to understand the importance of addressing unfavorable behaviors before they develop a pattern. In an effort to stop dog nipping, time and speed is of the essence. When you notice your dog chewing up shoes, nipping at your feet as you walk, grabbing your clothes, it is time to adapt teaching methods. If you do not start early it could lead into more and frequent nips and eventually harsh bites.

Step number three is consistency. If you begin a technique, stop a few days and start back it confuses the puppy. Realize it will take time for the pet to catch on so you have to stick with your actions to get positive results.

The fourth step is to looking for products that have bitter apple as a core ingredient will certainly do the trick for you. Veterinarians and pet stores will have this. It can be used to rub on your furniture plants and other items to help correct the dog’s actions.

The fifth step is to give your puppy chews that are made especially for them. There are a variety of flavors that will keep the dog entertained and is great tool to stop dog nipping. The sixth and last step is to help your dog stay active by walking them and allowing them to play outdoors. This provides more fun for the dog and takes their mind off of nipping.
