Common Dog Health Problems

which dog (boston terrier or french bull dog) would be better for this type of life style?
ok me and my family are getting a dog and i have narrowed it down to two types of dogs. The boston terrier and the french bulldog.
i will give you some information about me and my family and then i would like you to decide which one would be better for us.
so here’s the information:
im 13 and my brother is 9
we live in a twin house with a small yard.. but live right by those trails where you walk and its a mile long and we walk it almost everyday.
me and my brother both go to school.
this would be our first dog
we would like one that’s good for some-one who has very low allergies of dog hair.
that’s good with kids that are me and my brothers age,
one that doesn’t bark to much.
and s trainable
and doesn’t have to many common health problems.
so would are family be best for a boston terrier or a french bulldog.
Both are pretty good shedders…if there are allergy issues you should rethink the choice. Don’t think just because they are smaller that there won’t be a lot of hair…my last dog was 120 pounds and we had less hair around the house then with our now 20 pound French Bulldog, and he’s groomed impeccably! (Yeah…I was shocked!)
Both breeds you’ve mentioned have breathing issues, while they can go for normal walks and enjoy doing so, if “real” trail hiking is what you’re interested in you should reconsider another breed.
Frenchie’s also suffer from the inability to regulate their body temperature, so heat stroke is a very real threat (and some need a jacket in the winter.) I’d think two young and active boys would probably do better with a dog that should be encouraged to keep up without concerns for it’s health.

Common Musculoskeletal Problems $49.95 This book is designed to act as an off-the-shelf guide to assist health care providers evaluating patients presenting with common musculoskeletal complaints in the primary care setting. The result of a $750,000 research grant that studied how comfortable primary care providers felt when treating musculoskeletal conditions, this book addresses the common finding that family physcians felt unprepared despite frequently seeing these types of complaints. Since the primary care physician operates in a different environment than an orthopedic surgeon, the approach to the patient presenting in the primary care clinic must also differ from the specialist's approach. This book has been divided into chapters covering major body regions and injuries, and each chapter includes: Red flags, which are conditions requiring immediate treatment and referral; basic anatomy of the body region; Clinical evaluation techniques and tear sheets for use during examination; Common clinical diagnoses; and, disposition of the patient illustrated with helpful flow charts. |
