Collar Underground
Underground Wireless Fence question?
We just bought this house that comes with underground wires. I know this because during negotations, the seller put on the contract that the Underground Fence will stay but the collar will go. We don’t know where he wires are located. We have a dog.
1. Can we use any receiver for this wire?
2. How do we locate the wires to train my dog?
You need to have the right receiver. See if you can find out the name of SYSTEM and go from there. You can buy new collar attachemnts at feed stores or even Walmart for some brands…Then, to find the outline of the fence, carry the receiver around the yard with you, at a low level, and when you get near the wire, you will hear a chirp or a low buzzz……be careful your hands are not on the metal conductor parts, or you will get a shock!
I have a big Rottweiler and our fence has worked wonders! No more damage to my fence or the plantings close to the house etc..I love it.
