Collar Leash
How do you train a 2 year old dog not to fear a leash, collar or harness?
2 year old female staffy cross ridge back will sit, stay, drop and come all off the leash but you can’t get any restraining devices near her. She is visibly fearful. We can’t take her out into the public.
Keep trying. Put the harness or collar on and let her get used to that. Later you can just let her drag the leash around without holding it and she can get used to that. It sounds like she was abused in the past.
