What should I do about my guinea pigs?

Okay, so I am getting 2 baby boy guinea pigs from a friend, and I was thinking they could stay in my dogs old collapsible cage and the door comes off so I was going to take it off and make a little pen area that they could live in as well, if that makes sense? The dog kennel isn’t an actual kennel, it’s kind of like this:

Any suggestions? I can’t buy a new cage right now. Not one as big as I want it to be. So this is really only temporary. The cage isn’t small but not big enough. What should I do? Any ideas on expanding the Dog Crate?

Well that size is fine for 2 babies. Not sure about 2 males though? Males fight, so you have to be carefull.

So as long as it temporary it’s fine. But if you plan on using litter they will kick it out like crazy. So I would use a newspaper bottom and maybe something for them to cuddle up in?

I bought a 8 square foot cage on amazon (which is a great size for 2 piggies) for just under 40 bucks with tax and shipping, which is a steal! You just have to look around and make sure you get at least a 8 sq foot cage, this is about as small as you can go. But your kennel will be fine, especially if there small and it will only be temporary.
