Colitis In Dogs Treatment

Why does my dog have bloody stool after anal gland treatment?
My little terrier mix Snowie experienced a ruptured anal gland almost 3 weeks ago. She completed her round of antibiotics and she seemed back to herself. Yesterday she vomited a little bit once and her stool had a scant amount of red blood. Today she has more blood in her stool and she defecated 2 times in a row. I am very worried about her. I called the Vet and she said “Oh it is probably just colitis so bring her in.” We are going to the vet today, but I am hoping someone can offer some guidance to us. I don’t want to subject her to unnecessary and costly treatments. She hates going to the Dr. and I just get so upset at the thought of her being sick that I end up with a huge bill and little understanding of what her expected outcome is.
obviously you have taken her to the vet by now. Just wanted to say I hope she is doing better now.

A Treatment Program for Ulcerative Colitis. $115.71 This works proposes a treatment regiment for ulcerative colitis. Etiologically, ulcerative colitis is caused by a group of defective chromosomes. As a result, patients suffer from severe gastrointestinal related problems. Stress, although once seen as the golden answer, has been refuted; however, science has indicated that stress plays a major role in the onset of colitis relapsesas well as intensity and frequency. Therefore, the program proposed is geared at helping the patient cope with ulcerative colitis, decrease associated anxiety/fear with illness, and stress management/reduction. The modality for this treatment follows core cognitivebehavioral concepts and techniques. For decades, this model has been shown to be effective in achieving desirable effects in this field. This treatment was created for gastroenterologists who seek to better their patients quality of life.
