How do we get My puppy to like clothes?

My puppy, Bella, Doesn’t like wearing clothes. I got her on Tuesday and she’s oly 8 weeks old. I just am a really girly person, so of coarse she’s gonna have clothes. But She hates it! I dont know what to do! PLEase help me!?

I would leave the clothes out of it for now. One, she doesn’t need them, and two, I’d wait until she’s grown to put clothes on her so you don’t accidentally hurt her. She’s got soft bones and soft joints right now so you don’t want to be wrestling her to get clothes on her and accidentally injure her. Also, at this age, she’s going to chew the parts of clothes that she can reach, and that’s a big hazard.

For now, just work on getting her used to being handled by people. Every day, try to touch every part of her body, esp. ears, in her mouth, and her feet. Most dogs need to be taught that this sort of handling is OK. If you can get her used to being handled, it will make Vet exams, tooth brushing, medication administration and routine grooming much, much easier. You don’t have to go crazy with this–just touch the different areas for a second or two every day and praise for her accepting it.

And yes, if you get her used to being handled, it will make it easier when she’s old enough to safely wear clothes, too,
