what do you think of those citronella spray collars? Do they work?

I never hear good things about them.

There are 2 schools of thought on barking: teach them to bark on command/ quiet on command OR ignore the barking, reward the quiet (eliminate the behavior when they finally figure out NOT barking gets them treats, attention, etc.)

But no, citronella (or any “negative” training) is not going to be terribly effective.
