If a child sticks a finger in chain link fence on dog owner property & dog bites is owner responsible?

My house is surrounded by a chain link fence. I have several kids in the neighborhood who tease my dogs and stick their fingers in the fence. If my dogs bite them, am I responsible?
Thank you for all of your advice. I have heard, however, that if you post a “Beware of Dog” sign, that you are admitting you have a vicious dog , which mine are not, but other people don’t know that. Does anyone know about that?

Post a sign!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You must give “constructive notice” to the public that they need to “beware of dog”. If you do this and some child does get bit while sticking their fingers through the fence then their parents are liable, not you. Keep in mind that this does not prevent you from being sued. Some one could still sue you and then you would have to go into litigation to “prove” that you are in fact not liable.

A suggestion may be to purchase some of the fencing inserts that block the holes in a chain link fence. this may also keep your dog happier.
