CAT flea shampoo used on a DOG?

If someone used Cat flea shampoo on a dog would it work and also would it harm the dog in some way?

Has not happened just wondering

Cat shampoo is safe for dogs, not all dog shampoos are safe for cats. Permethrin is in a lot of Dog Products and lethal to cats for example. This is the reason vets don’t recomend advantix for dogs in households that have cats.

Baths are not the best way but are sometimes need to clean the dog, killing fleas as a by-product. I would use advantix if you have no cats or advantage or frontline drops if you do have cats to break the flea cycle.

Pantene daily clarifying shampoo is also safe (is recomended on ferrets) and also kills fleas. I have heard that dawn dish soap will kill fleas but it seems it would be harsh on the coat/skin.

To beat fleas you have to take a multi prong approach, all pets, bedding, house and vacuming tossing the bag every day and yard.
