What should you do if you accidentally hit a dog by car?

I mean a stray dog..what if you knocked him down while driving your car, what should you do then?
Remember it’s a stray dog so it maybe sick or it might bite you besides you maybe somewhere without any vets or shelters nearby. What would you do then? How would you save his life?? Should you take shots after carrying him in your car? And how could you disinfect him?
Let’s say your phone is dead..and you can’t reach anyone at the moment? Are there any procedures you can follow?

Yes, if you carry a blanket in your car, it is safer to try to get it over the dog, and cover its head, this way, no snapping, trust me they will do to the pain of being hit.

even if a stray dog and you hit the dog, the humane thing to do is to stop, and maybe someone coming by will have a cell phone with you and you can call the humane society.

watch the dog, if is hurt really bad, I suggest not trying to pick it up, or you may get really injured yourself.

call the police also, they will come out and try to help, and they can contact the ASPCA as well.

the dog deserves to be checked on.

sometimes, it cannot be help, they just dart out in front of you.

and if you handle the dog, and it does not bite you, shots are not necessary…..and to clean up after handling the dog, a really good shower with good antibacterial soap will do the trick, and also poor alcohol all over your hands and arms, this will also disinfect the areas…..

if not bitten, you should be fine…
