Bichon Frise Grooming

Bichon Frise or Boxer?

I did research and along with my friends help, narrowed it down to these two breeds. I was wondering which one you think would be better suited in this situation:

Apartment/rent home living with possible roommates & other pets
small yard
being away from me for a long time during the day(8+ hrs)
letting someone else care for/play with/let them out
be content with a nice walk and/or play session indoors or out
handle heat and cold(possible snow)
good with young children(supervised only)
can handle being put in a crate(at night and while nobody’s home)
traveling in a car comfortably

I also know the Bichon needs grooming,I’d find a reliable and reputable groomer to take him/her to along with brush and comb between visits. I also want to add that even though I might not be home,my roommate/roommates would be coming in and out. They also own pets and could let my dog out for me.

Just based on your housing and yard situation, I’d dissuade you from getting a boxer.

Bichons do need grooming, but you can keep them trimmed down if you don’t plan on showing them. They don’t need a full-length show coat all the time. A regular grooming appointment and a good daily brushing should work fine. Bichons are also good because they’re hypoallergenic and don’t typically shed much. My aunt had one and he was a beloved member of our family until he passed. They’re good, smart, regal little dogs.
