How can I stop my dog from chewing his bed?

I have a lab mix that has to be crated a few hours a day, and I hate to have him laying on the hard plastic of the bottom of his cage, but he will literally destroy ANYTHING I put in there. He gets plenty of exercise and interaction when I am home, and I give him bones and chew toys to enjoy while crated, but he never stops chewing.

How can I stop him from chewing up his bedding? Or is there any kind of bed or mat that is super-durable? Any insight would be helpful.

Your dog is probably bored. But it seems that you’ve got most of it covered: exercise, interaction and toys. Your problem has two main solutions. You can find something for him to d, like another toy or something, or you can make his crate chew proof.
