Theoretically, is it possible for a laser beam to change directions?

Curious really, sort of radical. Is it theoretically possible? Like the laser beam would go straight for 20 feet then turn right by 10 feet to avoid the house then turn right and continue going straight. In other words, could it avoid things midway? Is it even theoretically possible? What about a guided beam particle?
