Can i use my furminator deshedding tool while giving my dog a bath?

i have a border collie/lab/golden mix and he sheds quite a bit so i bought a medium furminator deshedding tool(which works great) and i wanted to know if it would work better if i used it while giving him a bath. i lost the instruction manual that came with it that would tell me if i could use it while my dog is still wet. if you know the answer please help ! (: thanks.

You’re not supposed to use it while the dog is wet. The dog should be completely dry before using the deshedding tool. I give my dog a bath, dry him completely, then brush him out to get rid of tangles (so the deshedder doesn’t pull them out) then use the deshedding tool.

This article talks about the instructions. It doesn’t specifically say not to use on wet fur, BUT the instructions with my furminator say in big bold print, do not use when dog’s hair is wet.
