Asked God

I asked god to give me a window of opportunity?
He give me it twice on consecutive days, both times I did not have the courage to do it. Is this a sign that I should not do it or is it just me that needs to man up?
Sounds like u need to give it a shot at what ever it is your doing.
♫ I asked ” Why ?” and God answered….♫

Ten Questions God Asked $15.69 "Where are you?"From the moment sin entered the world, God has been bringing humankind back to Himself. He has spoken like thunder and whispered like the wind; He has stirred the waters and calmed them; He has shaken the mountains and given visions and dreams. God has used these and many other avenues to teach and guide those willing to listen and see."What are you doing here?"In His dealings with those He loves, it is evident that God is never more personal, more direct, more piercing than when He asks a question. God does not question us so that we become informed; He questions us so that we will grow."Who do you say that I am?"We have all asked questions of God at one time or another. But rarely do we stop to consider the questions God may be asking us. By examining various times throughout the Scriptures when God questioned His people to bring them back to Himself, Ten Questions God Asked invites readers to examine their hearts and minds and apply the personal lessons to their lives. Study questions at the end of each chapter make Ten Questions God Asked an ideal book for individual and group study, reflection, and discussion."What do you seek? |

I Asked…He Gave $28.55 Years ago, Cora Lee had a beautiful dream about a butterfly. On September 1, 1993, she was awakened at 5: 00 a.m. and inspired to write a poem about a butterfly. She titled the poem aRebirth, a because a butterfly signifies rebirth. Cora Lee had prayed for God to use her to witness for Him and give her the words to say. Having prayed this prayer for some time, she started waking between midnight and dawn, inspired to write poetry. She knew her inspiration came from God because she had never been able to mak two lines rhyme. She also knew that He was answering her prayers about witnessing because all the poems were witness poems. The poems came almost every night and sometimes during the day. Sometimes she would see a road sign or be reading her Bible and be inspired to write a poem. What an answer to prayer God is so awesome |

I’m Glad You Asked $3.95 Everything Your Friends Wanted to Know about Christianity and You Were Afraid They’d Ask Such questions as: How can there be a good God with all the suffering in the world? Isn’t religion just an emotional crutch? How do we even know there is a God? How many times have you been placed in an uncomfortable situation when faced with skeptical questions about Christianity? You know Christianity is true, but you are unable to communicate the truth effectively. The Apostle Peter told us to always be prepared to give an answer to anyone who asks us about the hope that is in us. "I’m Glad You Asked" can help you become that able defender of the faith. This classic book, first published in 1982, explains the alternatives to the Christian position and then demonstrates why the Christian worldview is valid. It provides answers to the basic questions people ask and guides you logically through these questions with helpful flow charts. And it shows, most importantly, how each objection is really an opportunity to present the Gospel. Dr. Ken Boa is involved in a varied ministry of lifestyle evangelism and discipleship, teaching, writing, and speaking. His other books include "Cults, World Religions, and the Occult, "also from Victor. Larry Moody is the president of Search Ministries, a parachurch organization that assists adults in the process of lifestyle evangelism and discipleship through modeling and training. |

20 Most Asked Questions about the Amish & Mennonites $4.45 Loss Forgiveness and Restoration. The Face of Christ illustration and the accompanying story that has changed lives all around the globe.First it is a truelife story of an advertising executive an artist and a pastor Joe Castillo and the way God changed him. It also tells of the many lives touched by this simple illustration.Done before a live audience the very first time it had a powerful impact on those who watched. This motivated the artist to reproduce it in pen ink prints. As an artist Joes struggle to make a living was suddenly compounded by having his wife diagnosed with cancer. They had no insurance to cover the mounting debt but at an opportune time a friend offered to reproduce the artwork on marble plaques and pay royalties. The sales of the plaques were amazing surely this was the answer to all their financial problems But the story seems to grind to a halt. The friend refuses to pay royalties on the artwork that is selling world wide and Joe loses his wife to cancer. It becomes a daily struggle to forgive the man who was profiting from his artwork and overcome the bitterness at the loss of his wife. The plaques seem to show up everywhere compounding his anger and resentment. For Joe it became a bitter symbol of everything that had gone wrong. If you have ever struggled with forgiveness. If some events in your life just dont make sense God can use this artwork and the story that goes with it to help you put the pieces together. |

No concern was too silly. No challenge was too big. This engaging book captures it all. Living God’s Will $16.99 “Where are you in your search for God’s will? Have you ever asked yourself if you really have surrendered your life to Jesus as Lord and yielded yourself to Him? Are you willing to do God’s will in this situation no matter what it is? Are you willing to do something that is beneath you? Does the idea of following God’s will, instead of just finding it, meet you where you are? > In the pages of this “Following God” study on God’s Will you’ll discover: > What God’s Will is Like > Why God’s Will is a Process > Why We need God’s Will > The Promise of God’s Will > And much more… > Observation, interpretation, and application are part of communication on any level. If these steps for seeking God’s will sound like the process of Bible study, it isn’t by accident. The Bible is God’s recorded will, and–equally important to our process–it is God’s communication to us. > The theme of Following God’s will is one that emphasizes the importance of building a relationship with God, living the life totally surrendered to His leading. This Bible study is designed in an interactive format, incorporating important scriptural points of interest. In these pages you will learn how to connect with God in his communication process, how to interpret what He says, and, through practical application questions, how to evaluate your situation and act on God’s will.” |

(Not that You Asked) $11.99 How does Steve Almond get himself into so much trouble? Could it be his incessant moralizing? His generally poor posture? The fact that he was raised by a pack of wolves? Frankly, we haven’t got a clue. What we do know is that Almond has a knack for converting his dustups into essays that are both funny and furious. In (Not that You Asked) , he squares off against Sean Hannity on national TV, nearly gets arrested for stealing “Sta-Hard” gel from his local pharmacy, and winds up in Boston, where he quickly enrages the entire population of the Red Sox Nation. Almond is, as they say in Yiddish, a tummler. Almond on personal grooming: “Why, exactly, did I feel it would be ‘sexy’ and ‘hot’ to have my girlfriend wax my chest? I can offer no good answer to this question today. I could offer no good answer at the time.” On sports: “To be a fan is to live in a condition of willed helplessness. We are (for the most part) men who sit around and watch other men run and leap and sweat and grapple each other. It is a deeply homoerotic pattern of conduct, often interracial in nature, and essentially humiliating.” On popular culture: “I have never actually owned a TV, a fact I mention whenever possible, in the hopes that it will make me seem noble and possibly lead to oral sex.” On his literary hero, Kurt Vonnegut: “His books perform the greatest feat of alchemy known to man: the conversion of grief into laughter by means of courageous imagination.” On religion: “Every year, when Chanukah season rolled around, my brothers and I would make the suburban pilgrimage to the home of our grandparents, where we would ring in the holiday with a big, juicy Chanukah ham.” The essays in (Not that You Asked) will make you laugh out loud, or, maybe just as likely, hurl the book across the room. Either way, you’ll find Steve Almond savagely entertaining. Not that you asked. “A pop-culture-saturated intellectual, a kindly grouch, vitriolic Boston Red Sox hater, neurotic new father and Kurt Vonnegut fanatic… [Almond] scores big in every chapter of this must-have collection. Biting humor, honesty, smarts and heart: Vonnegut himself would have been proud.” —— Kirkus Reviews (starred review) From the Hardcover edition. |

Seeking the Hidden God $20 “Finding God elusive or questioning God’s presence in the world doesn’t have to undermine our faith. As far back as Moses, Job and Jonah, people of faith and action have asked where God is to be found, including some of the early church fathers and mystics. Today in our continuing struggle to know God, Kopas shows how, if we are willing to move beyond a desire for a God. This God is One who is easily grasped and understood, we may discover a “hidden” God who can strengthen our faith and better help us cope with the uncertainty of our lives and our world.” |

The Grace of God $16 In a shattered world of crime and chaos, in a city of loneliness and fear, Good and Evil no longer exist as separate entities. They share the same ground. They walk the same streets. They play the same games. Lewis Cade never asked to be a hero, but in a single moment of courage his life would forever change. Jack Raye never asked to be a victim, but years earlier fate seemed to single him out, and in the same moment that Lewis becomes a hero, Jack becomes something altogether more powerful. In that one moment, the monstrous, God-like power to give or take life would tear away the thread-bare fabric of Jack’s humanity, leaving nothing but a lifetime of hate and vengeance that is about to change both men’s lives. Two men. One destiny. And only one of them is a killer. But which one? |

God Stories $9.99 “The idea first came to me when a minister asked if I had any ‘God Stories.’ I asked her what she meant, and she explained that a God Story was a miracle-like experience that proves God exists. . . . I did have stories. I hadn’t dared to tell many people about them, but I definitely had had what I believed to be encounters with the Divine. I wondered if many other people had stories too. What happened next surprised me most. I realized that a Divine intelligence that many people call God is connecting with millions of people every day. These are their stories.” —from the Introduction In God Stories , Jennifer Skiff shares the extraordinary experiences of people who have felt the power of God’s presence in their lives and been forever changed. A doctor opens the chest of a dying heart patient to discover her heart is healed; Marines watch as a fellow soldier in Iraq is hit by a powerful explosion only to discover, when the dust settles, that he is still standing and has no injuries; a struggling couple receive an answer to a prayer and are prevented from making a mistake that could cost them their children; a young woman loses her boyfriend on 9/11 and receives a message that brings her peace. Reassuring, hopeful, and unforgettable, these amazing confirmations of divine intervention will lift your spirit and leave you wondering—and even remembering—when your life was touched by a miracle. From the Hardcover edition. |

The Vision of God $14.84 Nicholas of Cusa was a Christian mystic who lived during the 1400s. The Vision of God is known as a classic of Christian mysticism, putting many believers in touch with the divine. Many Christians have a desire to experience God, rather than just believe in Him. Nicholas of Cusa provides an excellent guidebook for Christians who sense something deeper to the Christian experience. He was a mystic. He experienced God on a number of levels and taught people to move beyond mere belief and have similar experiences. By bringing spiritual principles into the Christian religious setting, Nicholas was able to instruct and enrich thousands of people. This he did at a time when Christianity was beginning to cast a long shadow of strict dogma over the masses — it was the dawning of the Inquisition — yet Nicholas was able to keep his mystical teachings Safely within the boundaries of the Church. During this incredibly busy and volatile time, Nicholas engaged himself whenever he could in meditation and study. It is from these introspective journeys that he received his spiritual insights. He also spent much time with a group of Benedictine monks, who asked for spiritual guidance from Nicholas after recognizing his gifts. Nicholas responded with The Vision of God in December of 1453. A rare classic brought back into print. |
