How can I find out whether or not my pet carriers are Airline Approved?

Im in Australia
Pets will have to go in cargo… Ive never seen in cabin pets on any of the Airlines here in Australia.
I am not paying an extra $100 for each animal to use one of the transport companies carriers.
Want to use my own, thanks
