My name is Larry Jones, and I was born January 17, 1969. I started trapping and coon hunting with my dad and brother in 1975. My job then was bait carrier for the trap lines. We ran five miles of trap line along the Weeping Water Creek in Southeast Nebraska. We trapped coons, muskrats, mink, and fox. Everyday, we checked traps at 4:30am and 4:30pm. Back then, I had three Treeing Walkers, my brother had two Treeing Walkers, and my dad had a fantastic Blanketback named Pete.
Over the years, I have had over 40 various coonhounds. Some of these include Treeing Walkers, Redbones, Black and Tans, Blanketbacks, Blue Tics, and Red Tics. I currently have fifteen adult coonhounds: four Redbones, eight Black and Tans, two Treeing Walkers, and one English Plott. I also have five Redbone puppies and three Blanketback puppies.
I live to coon hunt! My hounds are my kids. I buy, sell, trade, and train as well. I enjoy sharing my coonhound experiences with anyone who will listen. My hounds are true-blue.
